About the Home
Professional household with 2 adults and 3 children. The family values privacy, discretion, calm energy, good judgment, and a consistently clean, orderly space.
Role Summary
We are seeking a proactive, highly meticulous Housekeeper who takes pride in creating a pristine, comfortable home environment. The ideal candidate is kind, steady, and detail-obsessed in the best way—someone who notices what’s out of place and fixes it without being asked.
Key Responsibilities
1) Daily Housekeeping & Deep Cleaning
- Maintain the entire home to hotel-quality standards (kitchen, baths, bedrooms, living areas, common spaces)
- Perform regular deep-clean details (baseboards, windows, corners, high-touch areas)
- Ensure floors are thoroughly cleaned at least twice per week (or more as needed)
- Care for fine furnishings, delicate surfaces, specialty finishes, and high-end features using appropriate methods/products
- Maintain multiple outdoor areas (including decks and a rooftop patio) so they stay tidy and ready for family use
- Complete a daily “home reset”: make beds, fluff pillows, straighten surfaces, keep rooms guest-ready, and maintain a calm visual flow
2) Laundry & Wardrobe Care
- Handle laundry with precision: stain treatment, sorting, specialized garment care
- Read all care labels and follow them carefully; when unsure, ask the principals/House Manager before laundering
- Hand-wash / hang-dry items when needed; iron select items as requested
- Change and refresh linens on a regular schedule
- Organize closets and maintain wardrobe systems; fold/put away items in correct locations
- Identify and set aside items for dry cleaning; coordinate drop-off/pick-up as directed
3) Organization & Systems
- Create and maintain organizational systems (pantry, closets, cabinets, children’s areas, storage)
- Restock household supplies and notify the House Manager before items run low
- Follow existing systems and improve them thoughtfully over time
4) Meal & Evening Support
- Warm up meals delivered by a meal service (simple, straightforward reheating)
- Set/clear the table as needed
- Load/unload the dishwasher, clean kitchen surfaces, and clean up after dinner
- Store leftovers properly and keep the kitchen reset for the next day
5) Additional Household Support
- Accept/manage deliveries; sign for packages; keep receiving areas tidy
- Manage trash/recycling; keep cleaning and storage areas organized
- Run occasional household errands (returns, dry cleaning, prescription pickup, etc.)
- Flag maintenance issues quickly to the Personal Assistant | Household Manager.
6) Light Child Awareness (Not a Nanny Role)
- Occasionally, keep an eye on the children briefly if a parent steps away (age-appropriate, light supervision only)
Ideal Candidate
- Nice, calm, gentle, genuine—steady presence in a busy household
- Meticulous and proactive; sees what needs doing and handles it
- Strong common sense and judgment (especially around laundry and delicate items)
- Comfortable in a family home with children and daily activity
- English fluency is not a priority; clear communication and reliability are important
Requirements
- Excellent references from previous employers
- Willing to undergo an in-depth background investigation
- COVID and flu vaccinations are required annually
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
- Non-smoker (no smoking or vaping)
- Physically able to perform job duties (standing, lifting, climbing stairs, bending, etc.)
