Part-Time Family Assistant | San Francisco, CA

Overview

Our client in San Francisco is seeking a reliable, highly organized part-time Family Assistant to help keep the household running smoothly. This is a hands-on role that blends home organization, errands, and light housekeeping support.

Local candidates will be considered. Suitable candidates will be invited to a paid working trial. Start: ASAP.

Schedule Options (Part-Time)

  • Preferred: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM (15 hours/week)
  • Alternate: Monday / Wednesday / Friday, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM (9 hours/week)

Compensation

  • $55/hour 

Household Notes

  • Home has three levels
  • Three children in the home.
  • A separate housekeeper currently comes once per week; this role supports day-to-day upkeep and household flow.
  • Male Principal works from home; the right candidate is comfortable working quietly, respectfully, and unobtrusively with strong professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

  • Household organization projects (closets, cabinets, systems, general reset)
  • Errands, returns, and household runs
  • Grocery shopping and keeping the home stocked with supplies
  • Receive deliveries and put items away appropriately
  • Light meal prep
  • Family laundry: wash/dry, fold, put away; occasional ironing
  • Tidy and maintain the home between deep cleans
  • Light housekeeping support (general straightening, surfaces as needed, keeping things orderly)
  • Light exterior upkeep (deck/patio tidy, front steps, knocking down cobwebs, etc.)
  • Meet vendors at the residence and oversee access/deliveries
  • Occasional driving of children as needed

Ideal Candidate

  • Naturally organized, proactive, and good at seeing what needs to be done next
  • Comfortable around children and able to step in calmly when needed
  • Trustworthy, discreet, and respectful of a family’s privacy
  • Strong communication skills and good follow-through
  • Comfortable working in a home where a principal is present (professional, low-profile presence)

Requirements

  • Prior experience supporting a busy household as a Family Assistant or Housekeeper
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (driving children may be requested)
  • Strong, verifiable employment references
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • No smoking or vaping (including during breaks or off-site while on shift)
  • Strong English language skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to comfortably work in a three-level home and use stairs frequently
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and move throughout the home
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and lift/carry household items and groceries (up to ~25 lbs)
  • Ability to perform light outdoor tidying (patio/deck/front steps)
