Overview

Rotational Nanny

 

Location: Austin, TX
Role Type: Full-time, long-term
Schedule: Two weeks on (24/7 shift) / two weeks off; live-in during two-week shifts
Compensation: Highly competitive compensation + 10% performance bonus + benefits
Pay Rate: $30 per hour base rate, $45 per hour overtime rate (in excess of 40 hours per week) 

Annual (pre-tax) Compensation: Base compensation estimated ~$180,000 per yr., plus eligibility for an additional 10% bonus compensation based on performance, target annual compensation of ~$200,000 

 

Other Benefits: Elective Health insurance plan (no deductible, no copay plan), and lodging at no cost during work, majority of meals provided by on-site chef

 

Seeking candidates locally and nationally; open to relocation and supporting some relocation costs

 

Overview

We are a private family office seeking an exceptional, career-level Rotational Nanny to support the care, development, and daily organization of two young children: a 2-year-old boy and a 4-month-old girl. While the role will primarily focus on the 4-month-old, the ability to confidently support both children as needed is essential.

This is a high-trust, high-responsibility position well suited to a mature, highly capable professional who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment and is energized by long hours, significant responsibility, and the opportunity for long-term commitment with a family.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

Childcare & Development

  • Independently care for both children as needed

  • Provide structured, age-appropriate care and education, including:

    • English language development

    • Supporting developmental milestones (eating, fine and gross motor skills, etc.)

    • Stories, science-based curiosity, and structured play

    • Balanced time outdoors and indoors

  • No TV and no phone use (other than work-related needs) while caring for the children

 

Infant & Feeding Management

  • Extremely organized and precise with:

    • Breast milk storage, labeling, freezing, and transport

    • Calculating quantities, timing, and feeding schedules

  • Support a mother who is breastfeeding and pumping while managing an intense, unpredictable career schedule

  • Confident handling night feeds, overnights, and irregular schedules

 

Documentation & Tracking

  • Diligent tracking and documentation of:

    • Feeding (amounts and times

    • Sleep schedules and patterns

    • Developmental milestones

    • Behavioral observations

    • Tracking of working hours and time on / time off 
    • Organizing structured handover to other staff

 

Household & Family Support

  • Assist the mother with:

    • Children’s birthday parties and family events

    • Holiday planning and decorations

    • Family travel logistics

    • Hosting guests

  • Support organization and coordination of:

    • Other nannies

    • Household staff

    • Changing schedules and coverage needs

  • Capable of interviewing and onboarding additional childcare support if required

 

Logistics, Travel & Flexibility

  • Ability to occasionally travel domestically and internationally (required)

  • Comfortable with:

    • Rapid schedule changes

    • Overnight support

    • One-day notice changes to plans or travel during two-week shifts

    • Highly resourceful when packing, traveling, and managing children on the move

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

  • Extensive professional experience as a nanny, governess, or similar role with UHNW or HNW families

  • Proven ability to manage long hours and high-intensity schedules and support mothers with demanding careers

  • Highly educated; capable of structured early childhood learning

  • Excellent spoken and written English

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Strong employment references and willingness to undergo a thorough background check

  • Ability to travel internationally (passport ready)

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills

  • Tech-savvy (email, calendars, digital tools; familiarity with AI tools a plus)

  • Discreet, private, and professional at all times

  • Calm, resilient, and solutions-oriented under pressure

  • Ability to pass extensive background checks, periodic drug screens, and provide extensive references

  • Able to start full-time no later than March 15, 2025, and complete interviews and a paid trial (minimum 7 days) prior to start
