Overview

Estate Manager

Aspen, Colorado  |  Full-Time  |  $180,000–$200,000
Reports to Director of Estate Operations
Open to candidates nationwide

The Role

A private family with several adjacent properties in Aspen, Colorado is seeking an experienced, self-directed Estate Manager to serve as the chief of their properties. This person will own the operation from front to back — managing vendors, maintenance, and hospitality — and will ensure the homes are maintained to an exceptional standard at all times.

The properties are used selectively throughout the year, which means the right candidate understands that standards never drop between visits. When the family arrives, everything must be seamless. This is a role for someone who takes genuine pride in a well-run home and doesn't need to be told what to do.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for all property operations, maintenance, and hospitality.
  • Manage on-site household staff and a network of trusted vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure the homes are guest-ready at all times — prepared to welcome the family and their guests with minimal notice.
  • Oversee all preventive maintenance, small repair projects, and property care across both residences.
  • Manage operating budgets, approve invoices, and report regularly to the Director of Estate Operations.
  • Maintain estate vehicles and all personal property belonging to the family at the residences.
  • Coordinate security systems and protocols in partnership with the family's security provider.
  • Plan and execute events and guest experiences with a five-star hospitality mindset.
  • Maintain a comprehensive estate manual and ensure it reflects current expectations.
  • Navigate HOA requirements and foster positive relationships within the surrounding community.
  • Collaborate with the broader operations team on scheduling, compliance, and coordination.

The Ideal Candidate

This role is best suited for someone who is independent, proactive, and deeply service oriented. The right person has a strong hospitality background and understands what it means to run a private residence at the highest level. Familiarity with mountain living – particularly the seasonal demands and culture of the Aspen area – is a meaningful advantage.

This person builds trust easily with everyone around them: neighbors, vendors, staff, and family members of all ages. They are discreet, professional, and the kind of person who notices what needs to be done before anyone asks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a private Estate Manager, ideally with a hospitality background.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken) preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with smart home and building automation systems.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must reside within approximately 20–30 minutes of the properties.
  • Must successfully pass a thorough background check and reference verification.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States – sponsorship is not available.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting salary of $180,000–$200,000 commensurate with experience, plus a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off. The family is committed to ensuring the right candidate is set up to live and work comfortably in the Aspen area. Housing or housing support will be provided.
