Overview

Reports To: Estate Manager

Location: Peninsula, CA

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Schedule: Monday – Friday; must have flexibility for weekend support/emergencies as needed.

Compensation: $190k+, plus benefits and access to a 401k

Role Overview

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the hands-on maintenance, technical operation, and physical integrity of a premier multi-estate portfolio. This role requires a unique blend of technical knowledge (HVAC, Electrical, Smart Home Systems) and manual "handyman" versatility. You will act as the primary point of contact for vendor oversight while remaining "tools-on" for daily repairs, furniture logistics, and asset preservation.

Key Responsibilities

1.  Technical Systems & Infrastructure Oversight

  •  Serve as the resident expert on all home systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and pool/spa mechanics.
  • Perform routine inspections and execute a proactive preventive maintenance schedule to ensure 100% uptime of estate infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot complex system failures and determine whether a self-fix or a specialized vendor is required.

2.  Hands-on Maintenance & Handyman Work

  •  Execute high-standard "handyman" tasks including but not limited to: drywall repair, painting, power washing, furniture assembly, and minor carpentry.
  • Manage the assembly, disassembly, and careful moving of high-end furniture and equipment across properties.
  • Support the Estate Manager in larger capital projects, serving as the on-site technical representative.

3.  Vendor & Logistics Management

  •  Source, vet, and supervise specialty contractors (landscaping, roofing, ) to ensure work meets the estate’s standards.
  • Coordinate the logistics for deliveries, service calls, and site visits.

4.  Specialized Asset Care

  • Automotive: Assist in the care and basic maintenance of a luxury vehicle fleet and classic cars (detailing oversight, battery tending, and logistics).
  • Animals: Maintain comfortability and basic care requirements for dogs, chickens, and squirrels on the property, ensuring their enclosures and environments are clean and secure.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Background: Must sign a comprehensive NDA and pass a multi-state background check and maintain the highest level of discretion.
  • Experience: 5+ years in high-end residential facilities management or a similar high-stakes technical role.
  • Hard Skills: Expert-level understanding of residential MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems. Proficiency with a wide range of power and hand tools.
  • Physicality: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and remain active throughout the day.
  • Plus: Specific knowledge or passion for classic vehicle mechanics and restoration.
