Overview

We are seeking an exceptionally detail-oriented and experienced Private Chef for a young, health-conscious family of four based in Los Angeles. This is a full-time, live-out role in a professionally equipped private kitchen, structured around daily family meal service.

The household maintains a strictly gluten-free diet due to a wheat allergy. The chef must have strong, proven expertise in gluten-free cooking, including sourcing, preparation techniques, and strict cross-contamination prevention. All meals are prepared from scratch — no processed or pre-made products.

This is a 5–6 month position in Los Angeles. The family will relocate to Jackson, Wyoming after this period. The chef may transition with the family in a live-in capacity, though candidates available for the LA term only are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare daily meals for the family (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)

  • Ensure all meals are fully gluten-free with strict contamination protocols

  • Independently manage menu planning, sourcing, inventory, and stock rotation

  • Maintain impeccable kitchen organization and hygiene standards

  • Follow precise ingredient storage and food safety guidelines

  • Use only approved materials (glass, stainless steel, ceramic; no plastic near heat)

  • Leave the kitchen spotless at the end of each day

Cuisine & Service Expectations

The family values fresh, wholesome, ingredient-focused cuisine with strong attention to nutrition and presentation.

Preferred cuisines include:

  • French

  • Italian

  • Modern American

  • Globally inspired healthy fare

Meal structure:

  • Breakfast: Healthy gluten-free options

  • Lunch: Light and fresh (salads, sushi, sandwiches, composed plates)

  • Dinner: Refined and polished, typically served around 6 PM

No staff meals required.

Ideal Candidate

  • Professionally trained chef with Michelin-level or high-end restaurant background

  • Prior experience in high-end private households required

  • Demonstrated longevity in previous roles

  • Calm, disciplined, and highly organized

  • Comfortable working in a home with young children

  • Self-directed and respectful of private residence standards

  • Flexible and adaptable to evolving preferences and schedules

  • Legally authorized to work in the US

This is a highly detail-driven household where cleanliness, organization, and food integrity are non-negotiable. The right candidate will take pride in operating at the highest standard in both culinary execution and kitchen management.
