Overview

Established estate on the Peninsula is seeking a full-time, experienced, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our household team. While reporting to the Assistant Estate Manager and Director of Residences, this individual will take daily lead and direction from the Senior Housekeeper. While the primary focus of this role is maintaining the primary residence, the candidate must be flexible in assisting at other properties in the area as needed, such as covering for team PTO or providing additional support. As the household has a young baby, the ideal candidate is someone who enjoys a family environment, is comfortable working alongside another housekeeper, a nanny, and can maintain a calm, professional presence. The right candidate will be proactive, discreet, and work with a high degree of independence once tasks are established.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work under the guidance of the senior housekeeper and management to execute full-cycle cleaning and organization of the home.
  • Independently manage daily maintenance to ensure all areas are guest-ready at all times.
  • Maintain a quiet environment while executing all responsibilities (principals work from home).
  • Provide flexibility to support other local properties as requested, including covering for fellow staff during time off.
  • Handle all household laundry and professional-level ironing.
  • Provide expert care for fine finishes, antiques, and delicate fabrics using approved products and techniques.
  • Maintain household inventory and coordinate external services such as dry cleaning.
  • Execute daily tasks including, but not limited to: changing bedding, vacuuming, laundry, emptying trash, and dusting/polishing.
  • Collaborate professionally with Management, senior housekeeper, and the nanny to ensure a seamless living environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional housekeeping experience within high-end private estates.
  • Proven ability to take direction well while maintaining the capacity to work independently.
  • Discreet, ethical, and trustworthy with a service-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Comfortable climbing stairs and lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and provide excellent references.

Helpful Experience

  • Experience working in households with infants and collaborating with nannies.
  • Experience working as part of a multi-person housekeeping team.
  • Knowledge of luxury cleaning standards.
  • Flexibility to assist with hospitality or service needs when the family is in residence or during special events.

Benefits

  • Competitive wage: $50 per hour depending on experience.

Hours

  • Full-time; Monday–Friday
  • 7:00am/7:30am - 3:00pm/3:30pm
  • Weekend and evening availability for special events/circumstances. This is very limited.
