Part Time Housekeeper

Part-Time Housekeeper, Private Residence | Los Altos, CA 

A private household in Los Altos is seeking a part-time housekeeper to join their home team. The ideal schedule would be Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

This is a role for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, notices what needs to be done without being asked, and brings a calm, professional presence to everything they touch. The right candidate is proactive and self-directed but also collaborative – someone who works well within a small household team and communicates easily. Trust and discretion are non-negotiable in this household. The right candidate will have strong, verifiable employment references and must be willing to undergo a thorough background check. Strong English communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Full-charge housekeeping for the home: cleaning, deep cleaning, and overall upkeep (kitchen, common areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, exterior living areas)
• Kitchen clean-up and light kitchen assistance, including prepping ingredients, seasoning proteins, and cutting vegetables
• Simple family meal prep when the family’s chef is not available
• Family laundry: washing, folding, ironing/steaming as needed, closet organization
• Put away groceries and deliveries; maintain tidy pantry/fridge systems
• Occasional errands: groceries, dry cleaning, post office, etc.
• Light organizational help

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 5+ years working in private homes and/or in luxury hospitality settings
• Must be local to the Bay Area
• Must be willing to undergo a thorough background check
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Trust and discretion are non-negotiable – this household takes both seriously
• Strong, verifiable employment references required
• Strong English communication skills required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs (laundry baskets, supplies, small packages)
• Ability to climb stairs and perform repetitive cleaning motions
• Comfortable using cleaning products and equipment (vacuum, mop, steamers, etc.); ability to follow product safety instructions

Compensation: $55 to $60 per hour; guaranteed hours
