Overview

DM Estate Staffing is partnering with a returning private client to identify an experienced, highly polished Senior Housekeeper to support the daily operations and presentation of multiple high-end private residences across the San Francisco Bay Area, including Marin and Sonoma.

 

This role is best suited for a candidate with a background serving high-end, discerning principals, or prior experience as a Chief Stewardess or 2nd Stew aboard a private yacht, who understands the standards of luxury service, discretion, and proactive household management. The successful candidate will ensure each residence is maintained to impeccable standards, working seamlessly and quietly whether the principals are in residence or not.

 

The ideal candidate brings a refined service background, an instinctive understanding of the rhythm of luxury households, and genuine pride in delivering an immaculate, hotel-quality environment. You are discreet, efficient, and capable of managing multiple residences with consistency, warmth, and care. You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly with the Estate Manager, and move through each home with the quiet confidence that defines the very best in private service.

  • Full-Time
  • 5 days per week with flexibility to work one weekend day for household events
  • Possible overnight stays when traveling

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all residences to five-star hospitality standards with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ensure common areas remain clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times.
  • Perform high-level housekeeping, including cleaning, sanitizing, and presentation upkeep.
  • Provide full laundry service, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and maintaining laundry rooms.
  • Oversee wardrobe care and clothing organization, including closets and storage systems.
  • Rotate efficiently between multiple properties, ensuring consistency of standards across homes.
  • Prepare residences ahead of principal and guest arrivals.
  • Monitor property condition and security, reporting any irregularities or maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate with and report to the Estate Manager on day-to-day requirements and any vendor-related needs.
  • Provide occasional light pet care, including feeding, refreshing water, and short walks.
  • Work with discretion at all times, maintaining privacy and a low-profile presence.

 

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in private households, luxury estates, or aboard superyachts.
  • Background working with UHNWI principals, or in a Chief Stewardess or senior housekeeping role, strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional eye for detail and a genuine commitment to high standards.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills across multiple properties.
  • Self-directed, proactive, and able to anticipate household needs.
  • Enthusiastic and kind with a professional demeanor with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English speaking

 

Requirements and Background

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable personal transportation; this is a commuting role, and housing is not provided.
  • Ability to travel regularly between Bay Area properties, including Marin and Sonoma.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully pass an in-depth background check.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Stellar professional references required.
  • This is a strictly non-smoking and non-vaping position, both on and off duty while representing the household.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb stairs throughout the workday.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 30 pounds, including laundry baskets, vacuums, supplies, and household goods.
  • Perform repetitive motions associated with cleaning, ironing, and wardrobe care.
  • Use ladders or step stools safely when reaching high shelving, cabinetry, and light fixtures.
  • Work comfortably with standard household cleaning products and equipment.
  • Drive between multiple Bay Area properties throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work around dogs

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • $55–$65 per hour, commensurate with experience.
  • Monthly healthcare compensation.
  • Ten (10) days of paid vacation.
  • Five (5) paid sick days.
  • Ten (10) paid holidays.
  • Mileage Reimbursement between properties
  • Annual performance and wage review.
  • Discretionary annual bonus.
