The Role

A private family is seeking a full-time Executive Housekeeper to provide personalized, hands-on daily care for their 10,000 square foot home on about 1.5 acres in Atherton. This role focuses on the thoughtful, everyday care and attention to detail that makes the house feel organized, fresh, and ready at all times. You’ll take ownership of the home’s daily needs, from tidying and laundry to wardrobe care and supporting guests, and work closely with the family’s House Manager.

The family values trust, easy communication, and dependable people who take real ownership. The right person is easygoing, friendly, and gentle, with a warm and approachable presence. You’re proactive without being overbearing, anticipate needs before they come up, and are comfortable working independently while staying in close communication with the House Manager and principals. Discretion, organization, and reliability are essential.

The Home

• About 10,000 square foot residence on roughly 1.5 acres
• Cleaning service in place for deep cleaning
• A cat and a dog in the household
• Schedule: Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on daily cleaning and tidying throughout the home, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and common areas
• Complete detailed deep cleaning on a regular rotation, with larger projects scheduled while the family is away
• Conduct regular walkthroughs of the home and share anything that needs attention with the House Manager
• Keep the home organized throughout
• Manage laundry, including washing, ironing, and folding clothing and linens
• Organize and maintain wardrobes and closets
• Unpack and organize deliveries and packages
• Manage garbage and recycling
• Monitor pet food and household supplies, and share restocking needs with the House Manager
• Walk the dog as needed
• Clean and maintain outdoor entertaining areas
• Keep the House Manager informed of housekeeping needs, supply levels, and updates
• Prepare the home for the family's arrivals and for visiting guests
• Help with entertaining, including household setup, cleanup, and supporting guests and events
• Prepare simple meals or light snacks when needed

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Housekeeper or Executive Housekeeper in a private home
• Knowledge of proper care for fine furnishings, fabrics, wardrobe, and linens
• Strong laundry and wardrobe care skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
• A clear, comfortable communicator
• Able to work independently and collaborate closely with a House Manager
• Comfortable with pets, including a cat and a dog
• Table service experience is a plus
• Comfort preparing simple meals is a plus
• Discreet and respectful of the family’s privacy
• Legally authorized to work in the US
• Within a commutable distance of Atherton, California
• Able to undergo a background check and provide excellent references

Compensation and Benefits

• $55+ per hour | depending on experience 
• 10 days of paid vacation
