Overview

Executive Housekeeper – Full-Time
Aspen, CO area
Open to candidates nationwide, but must be willing to fully relocate to the area!

Our client, a large, active family with a growing portfolio of homes, is seeking an experienced, full-time Executive Housekeeper to lead their housekeeping team with grace, warmth, and genuine collaboration. This is a true leadership role, overseeing a team of 4 on-site Housekeepers and 1 additional Housekeeper at another property, with new properties set to come online in the coming years. The ideal candidate splits their time evenly between working directly alongside the team and handling administrative responsibilities such as inspections, ordering, inventory, scheduling, and ensuring timesheet accuracy.

This is an especially exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong systems from the ground up. The family would love for this person to spend their first six months working closely alongside the existing team, building rapport, learning their strengths, and understanding their current processes, in order to help develop thoughtful, well-documented SOPs for both the current home and the new property. This household deeply values a kind, collaborative, and enjoyable team culture, so a graceful leadership style and genuine care for the team are just as important as technical housekeeping expertise. The family also maintains an eco-conscious home, so a strong working knowledge of natural, non-toxic products is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and thoughtfully manage a small team.
  • Split time between hands-on housekeeping work alongside the team and administrative duties, including inspections, ordering, inventory management, scheduling, and ensuring accurate timesheets
  • Build rapport with the existing team over the first 6 months, learning current processes and strengths, and using this time to develop clear, well-organized SOPs
  • Help design and implement SOPs for the new property coming online within the year, as well as for additional homes in the family's growing portfolio
  • Coordinate with outside contractors at additional properties as needed
  • Oversee seasonal opening and closing of properties, including conducting inventory, discarding expired items, developing seasonal SOPs, stripping/preparing linens, and coordinating deep cleaning before reopening
  • Lead and manage the preparations prior to travel – oversee packing and unpacking and inventory of returning items.
  • Guide the housekeeping team with daily laundry as everything is laundered internally.
  • Use and maintain knowledge of natural and non-toxic products throughout the home
  • Travel with the family approximately 6 weeks per year to their other properties, helping open the home in advance and manage housekeeping needs during their stay
  • Lead by example with kindness, professionalism, and a genuinely collaborative approach to managing the team

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience managing a team of 4+ Housekeepers, ideally within a private home setting – this is hugely important!
  • Required: experience working in a family's primary residence (not exclusively vacation/seasonal homes)
  • Strong administrative skills, including scheduling, inventory management, and timesheet oversight
  • Deep knowledge of green and eco-conscious cleaning products and practices
  • A warm, graceful leadership style; someone who treats team members with kindness and respect
  • Comfortable working around children and pets
  • Willingness to travel domestically approximately 6 weeks per year, with openness to international travel as the family's portfolio develops.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Aspen, CO area
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Able to undergo an in-depth background check and provide strong supervisory employment references
  • Comfortable and excited about working in a team-oriented environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Up to $70 per hour, plus overtime eligibility (team typically averages a 40-hour workweek)
  • Benefits package including:
    • Medical, dental, vision
    • 10 days of paid vacation
    • 80 hours per calendar year of sick leave
    • 11 paid federal holidays
    • 401K - 3% match (eligibility after one year)
  • Employer-provided housing for the first 6 months, including parking and utilities (walking distance to a grocery store and a direct bus line into Aspen, approximately 35 minutes)
  • Relocation stipend, to be discussed and negotiated with the selected candidate
