Part-Time Drop-Off Chef
San Carlos, CA
Our repeat client based in San Carlos, California is looking for a part-time Drop-Off Chef to prepare fresh, healthy lunches and dinners for the week. Meals are prepared off-site in the Chef's own kitchen or a commercial kitchen and delivered to the home twice a week. This is a great fit for a Chef who loves seasonal, vegetable-forward cooking and enjoys building a long-term relationship with a family.
Schedule
- Part-time: 2 drop-offs per week (Flexible on days, with a preference for Sunday and Wednesday or Monday and Thursday)
- Each drop covers 3 to 4 days of meals, for 7 days of lunches and dinners in total
- Example: a Monday drop covers Monday through Wednesday, and a Thursday drop covers Thursday through Sunday
- Start date: as soon as possible
Compensation
- $75 to $90 per hour, depending on experience
- Guaranteed weekly hours
Responsibilities
- Plan weekly menus in partnership with the family
- Shop for ingredients, with a focus on local farmers' markets and seasonal produce
- Prepare lunches and dinners for 2 people, occasionally 3, in an off-site kitchen
- Package, label, and deliver meals with clear reheating instructions
- Be open to preparing holiday meals, priced separately

- 3 to 4 vegetable dishes per drop, light on fat and butter

Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a private, personal, or drop-off chef
- Access to a clean, well-equipped kitchen for meal prep
- Experience cooking gluten-free meals
- Comfortable planning menus and adapting to feedback
- Reliable transportation and the ability to deliver on a consistent schedule
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented with labeling and food storage
- Food Handler certification preferred
- Strong references and the ability to pass a background check
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- Within a commutable distance to San Carlos, CA
